This is a brand new 2008 R1 from the very popular Protea series. Presently the Protea R1 theme is Nobel prize winners, and this is the 5th Silver R1 in the current theme. As is the standard with the Proteas, this coin is extremely well struck with beautiful detail throughout the whole design.
The coin on offer here, is brand new, and UNOPENED (Mint plastic bag still sealed!), and comes in the blue SA Mint box, with the white cardboard sleeve. Inside you will find the coin, encapsulated in a clear plastic housing, with the Certificate of Authenticity
The coin is struck in Sterling Silver, weighs 15gram, and has a diameter of 32.69mm. The metal consists of Ag 925 and Cu 75
The design depicts a young Ghandi, with the words "My life is my message" inscribes above his bust.
The image here is a stock photo, the actual coin you will receive is still sealed in the mint bag.
