2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa

The official commemorative R2 gold coin and have been issued in honour of the “FIFA World Cup” and form part of the international “FIFA” programme.

 

On the reverse of both coins the official logo for the “2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™” is featured as the main design element. The stylish design of the German eagle and the South African secretary bird depicts the transfer of the “FIFA World Cup” From Germany to South Africa. The denomination “R2” completes the design.

 

The obverse of the “R2” silver coin depicts the South African coat of arms along with the words “South Africa” written in all the official languages. The obverse of the R2 gold coin also features the South African coat of arms and the words “South Africa”. The year of issue “2006” appears on both coins.
