The South African Mint attended the XXVII Mint Directors' Conference which was held from the 6th to the 12th of May, 2012 in Vienna. This event is held every second year and is seen as the Oscars of the numismatic industry. We are proud to announce that the South African Mint was awarded the prestigious "Most Beautiful Commemorative Gold Coin" for our 2011 1oz gold Natura Coin which features the Meerkat, as part of the "Nature's Families" Series.
