2016/17 Hurricanes Away Jersey

Show your support for the Hurricanes this season with the official adidas Hurricanes Super Rugby Away Jersey. The Hurricanes design is a representation of Nga Hau e Wha (the 4 winds) and brings together all the force of the Hurricanes combined unions. The east wind (Hau Rawhiti) brings on its back the players and supporters from the East Coast, Poverty Bay, Hawkes Bay and Wairarapa Bush unions while the west wind (Hau-a-uru) brings with it Whanganui, and Horowhenua / Kapiti. The north wind (Hau Raki) brings Manawatu and the strong southerly wind (Hau Tonga) is Wellington.

The convergence of these 4 winds is the eye of the Hurricane (Te Hau Awhio), while calm in itself, has the potential to lay waste to all around it. The Royal NZ Air Force WII Hurricane 486th squadron reflected this concept in their team catch phrase "Hiwa hau Maka!¿ (Beware the Wild Wind!). Nga hau e wha E NGUNGURU NEI (Let the 4 winds REVERBERATE & RESOUND and in this dynamic and powerful design in true Hurricanes Yellow and Black the 4 winds are converging and the Hurricane is building.

Designed by Luke Crawford and Dave Burke - with support from Tiki Edwards of New Zealand Rugby.
