The Royal Canadian Mint has limited edition range of superhero-themed coins. This 2016 coin is focusing on the BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE film. This coin commemorates Superman with an iconic depiction of his S shield.
Coin Highlights:
Superman was created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster in 1933, when the writer and artist (respectively) were just high school students living in Cleveland, Ohio. The fictional superhero lived a double life in the city of Metropolis, spending his days as the mild-mannered newspaper report Clark Kent, and rescuing the world from danger as Superman when the time called.
His origin story states that Superman was born as Kal-El on the planet of Krypton, and sent to Earth for his own good just moments before his home planet was destroyed. Raised in Kansas on a farm by humble people, he was brought up with a strong moral compass.
The Royal Canadian Mint has produced a variety of Superman-themed coins so far in 2016, but none is as brilliant as the 2016 1 oz Canadian Superman Shield coin. A limited release product that stands alone in its own series, this superman coin features only the image of the icons S shield.
The obverse side of the 2016 1 oz Canadian Superman Shield coin includes the right-profile portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, as created in 2003 by Susanna Blunt.
The Royal Canadian Mint is one of the finest refineries and mints in the world, striking circulation currency for the nation of Canada as well as countless smaller nations such as the Bahamas and New Zealand, to name a few.
