RARE COIN
This 2016 Mexico 1 oz. Proof Silver Libertad Onza achieved the top grade of Proof 70 Ultra Cameo from the experts at Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC). This marvelous coin has the coveted Mexico Label.
The Casa de Moneda de Mexico is the oldest mint in the Western Hemisphere. It was founded by the Spanish in 1535 under the Spanish military governor Antonio de Mendoza. The Libertad is unusual in government sponsored bullion products in that its face value is a weight, 1 Onza (1 oz.). It is struck on a .999 pure 1 oz. silver round. The Libertad was first struck in 1982 and has been popular with stackers and numismatic collectors ever since.
The Silver Libertad is a gorgeous coin with iconic, classic imagery. The image that graces the obverse is the Angel of Independence which stands atop a victory column in Mexico City. This classic "Winged Victory" holds a laurel wreath in her right hand overhead. The reverse design features the current Coat of Arms of Mexico, the Eagle eating a snake while on a saguaro cactus. This coat of arms is surrounded by the previous Mexican Coats of Arms.
Proof 70 coins are flawless specimens sought out by those who demand perfection in their collections.
I DO try to take the photos, so it shows the good and the bad
