21 Piece Vintage Wedgwood Etruria BarlastonStrawberry Hills Tea Set Circa 1957 to 1978

Wedgwood  was founded in 1759 at the Ivy House Works, Burslem byJosiah Wedgwood, (1730-1795), who is now remembered as the "Father ofEnglish Potters".  He was the youngest of 12 children born inBurslem, Staffordshire, in the heart of the English potteries and served hisapprenticeship as a potter before setting up his own business.

In 1765, Wedgwood created a new form of earthenware, which impressedthe then British Queen consort Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, who gaveofficial permission to call it "Queen's Ware."

In 1766, Wedgwood bought Etruria, a large Staffordshire estate, as botha home and factory site.  Wedgwood developed a number of furtherindustrial innovations for his company, notably a way of measuring kilntemperatures accurately and the new ware types Black Basalt and Jasper Ware.

This is a beautiful 21 piece tea set consisting of the biscuit plate,creamer, open sugar bowl and 6 complete tea trios (cup, saucer and tea plate).All the items are beautifully decorated with a wild strawberry pattern withlight pink blossoms and prominent green strawberry leaves. All items arebeautifully rounded off with gold trim.

STAMPS OR MARKS: All theitems are stamped underneath Wedgwood Bone China Made in England.

CONDITION: The setis in mint condition with no visible damages.
