The Instructor or Young Man's Best Companion by George Fisher
On offer this rare and wonderful find! A 237 year old book, printed in 1773 in London, this book the 25 edition, the first publication of this book being in 1735. Amazingly it is still in print today and the most recent print being in Feb 2010. On the inside front cover beneath the title: "Spelling, Reading, Writing and Arithmetick, in an easier Way than any yet published, and how to qualify any Person for Bufinefs, without the Help of a Mother". The book's cover is severely worn, the back cover is missing and part of the spine cover also missing, but the front cover which leather covered is loose but present - it would greatly benefit from professional restoration. The interior of the book is intact, no missing pages as far as I can see, but with age related marks. Pages in the very front and very back quite brittle on the edges and small pieces of paper on the edges have cracked off. It is hard cover, illustrated in Black and White, 407 pages, measures 17.5x10.5cm, inscribed with "J Cleaver 1877" on the inside cover and again "J Cleaver, January 13. 1773" on the next page.
Superb Find for the Serious Collector of Rare Vintage Books!!!
