This George II Shilling dated 1743 was found with a silver chain by a metal detectorist near Sea Point, Cape Town.
The chain, which most probably dates from a later circa than the coin, was tested by a jeweler and is made of Sterling Silver, weighs a hefty 13 grams and is OVER half a meter long!
A stunning piece for the collector of valuable things old and strange.
