An inverter converts 12V direct current (DC) from a battery to standard 220V alternating
current (AC) which is the sameas that supplied by Eskom through a standard household plug
point. This is a quiet, alternative system to a generator and Ifonix inverters are supplied with
South African standard AC 3-pin plug receptacles. There is no need to purchase European
or American plug adaptors.
With the inverter you would require a 12V battery similar to which is used in your car (for long
run-times a deep cycle 100Ah 12V battery is suggested) and a decent battery charger.
If you used an inverter and battery source during a power failure, it is imperative that you put your battery back on charge
once the supply of normal electricity is restored.
