George Baxter (1804-1867) was an English artist and printer based in London and is credited with the invention of commercially viable colour printing which he patented in 1835. The process involved using a key plate (of wood or steel) and then superimposing colours from multiple (up to 20) different wood blocks. This particular print is entitled "The Lion in Love" and has the George Baxter patented mark. In very good condition - Framed in glass - 24cm x 19cm, print itself being 11.5cm x 7.5cm. Refer images
