As per Paul Withers book - 'Kruger Pond Imitations' there are 17 similar looking Imitations used as card counters dated 1896. They were sold in quantity from stationers at the turn of the century of which 6 were very common and a further 11 minted through later years all been identified as RARE Now, over 100 years later, these imitations are all scarce and sought after by specialist collectors where premium prices are paid for the elusive varieties!
