Rare set of 3 Skyscraper Art Deco Jars with Original Lids.
These classic items are popularly known as "Skyscraper" jars due to their Art Deco tiered design, which mimics the architectural style of early 20th-century high-rises.
They are also known as Hoosier Jars.Several companies made these jars, and those include Hazel Atlas, Hocking Glass and Consol. Research suggested these were made by Anchor Hocking or Consol South Africa.
Why do they match?During the mid-20th century, glass manufacturers often shared or sold moulds. It is very common to find "sets" of these jars where the glass shapes are identical, but the base markings vary because they were made in different batches or even different factories years apart.The original green metal lids are a key factor in the value and collectability of your skyscraper jars. While modern storage jars often use plastic, these original metal "screw-on" lids are highly sought after by collectors to complete authentic vintage sets.
Made in either the US, or South Africa, 1930s-1940s.
Visible Flaws: Minor age-related wear. Glass jars are clear, no clouding and no chips, Lids have age related wear.
