3 X Cannon Shell Casings. Comprising: Berndorf 1918 - 33 - 8cm M16. Top part has been cut and decorated in typical trench art fashion. 230mm in length. A piece of cork has been placed in hole at the base. 6 Pr with markings "1 III Lot 26 - Cf - K." 300mm in length. Patronenfabrik Karlsruhe Juli 1899 Ke. Decorated at the top in trench art fashion. Has slight dents. I was told, but cannot be certain, that these shells were the first smokeless shells to be used during the Anglo Boer War by the Boers - causing confusion amongst the British as, being smokeless, they could not see from where the cannon was fired. Signed for postage in SA, at buyers own risk, will be R50. Please allow enough time for the 4 photos to download.
