These are great plants, quite showy and fairly easy to grow. On offer here is the solid red annual phlox. These phloxes have the same dense cluster of tubular 5-petaled, 2.5cm in diameter flowers that spread to a trumpet flare of five blossoms but are shorter in growth. Since the original annual phlox was not too sturdy, these hybrids have been manipulated to be lower growing and spreaders. Annual Phlox are used often in container plantings, cut flower gardens, edging, hanging baskets, ground cover, mass-plantings, mixed borders and rock gardens. They have a long blooming season.
