If you would like your wire connections to look neat and not have the hassle of the usual electrical tape to cover wires then heat shrink tubing is the best way to go about it. The heat shrink tubes shrink to 1/2 their size when heated up with a flame. A cigarette lighter is doing the trick for me but you can also use a hot air tool to do the same.
