The Voodoo2 12 MB was a performance-segment graphics card by 3dfx, launched on February 2nd, 1998. Built on the 350 nm process, and based on the SST2 graphics processor, in its 500-0009-01 variant, the card supports DirectX 6.0. Since Voodoo2 12 MB does not support DirectX 11 or DirectX 12, it might not be able to run all the latest games. The SST2 graphics processor is an average sized chip with a die area of 119 mm² and 4 million transistors. It features 1 pixel shader and 0 vertex shaders, 2 texture mapping units, and 1 ROP. Due to the lack of unified shaders you will not be able to run recent games at all (which require unified shader/DX10+ support). 3dfx has paired 12 MB EDO memory with the Voodoo2 12 MB, which are connected using a 192-bit memory interface.
The GPU is operating at a frequency of 90 MHz, memory is running at 90 MHz. Being a single-slot card, the 3dfx Voodoo2 12 MB does not require any additional power connector, its power draw is rated at 15 W maximum. Display outputs include: 2x VGA. Voodoo2 12 MB is connected to the rest of the system using a PCI interface.
