Our heaters basically comprise the same elements as in your geyser.
It's only really effective in a body of water that is fully insulated, otherwise the heat generated just dissipates as quickly as it's created.
Pool blankets will of course help to retain some of the heat. Also , with our heaters it will take a good 3-4 days to notice an increase in temperature, it will not be instant.
Thus we always prefer to be very conservative when selling these heaters as they are not ideal for every application.
Two heaters will be better than one, but no guarantees as to how much it will heat the water in your particular pond.
No plug is supplied with the heater, the heater has to be connected to the same trip switch as the water pump so that when the water pump disconnects, the heater must also disconnect, otherwise it will burn out.
They are standard metal probe thermostats that go into the pocket of the element similar to a geyser thermostat. The temperature range is 0 - 40 deg C on the dial. 220VAC / 15A
