This 17-year-old violin has been a performing instrument since its acquisition

The violin has no discernible branding detail or insignia

Style: Stradivarius model

Spruce and maple wood make up the violin

The violin is finished off in shellac which enhances the grain and provides a smoothness without plastic quality of lacquer

The violin has never had any damage requiring repair

The violin has recently been fitted with a new bridge it is a Teller bridge manufactured in Germany

The strings have also been replaced recently, with Pirasto Piranito strings

As a 17 year old violin it has the benefit of maturity of wood

The violin projects very well with both gut and perlon / synthetic strings ranging from mellow to a crystal sweet tone.  With steel-core strings the violin projects a clear sound which is well-tempered

Bow
An entry-level bow is supplied, which requires re-hairing
A superior bow will render better performance and is recommended

The violin has a hard case with lined fabric which offers good protection when transporting
