The Spookfish is a fish species that uses mirrors in its eyes, and is the only known animal to have evolved this function and due to this 4 channel surveillance system coming with 4 CCTV cameras it has been given the name after this underwater ectothermic creature. Each camera has 24 LED lights to ensure a clear view with a visibility of up to 20 meters can be seen. Using H.264 video compression, the “Spookfish” records footage at a lower bit rate however maintaining high quality, which just means better video and less storage required. H.264 is a standard for video compression, plus it is presently one of the most frequently used formats for the recording, compression, and distribution of high definition video.

The cameras that come with the “Secure View” security package have a horizontal resolution of 420 TVL, which means the picture is created by electron beam scanning from the upper left and moving horizontally to the right and moving down until it reaches the lower right of the screen. 420 TV lines mean that it takes 420 scans to get the job done and this is repeated to produce a clear image. The cameras also have been designed to reflect or block mid-infrared wavelengths while passing visible light due to having IR-cut.
