Battery equalizer HA02 can be used for various kinds of batteries (single battery voltage from 2.4V to 12V)
connected in series.
HA02 battery equalizer is used for batteries which are connected in series to keep the voltage of batteries
equal when the batteries are charging or discharging. When the batteries work in a series connection, the
batteries' voltage can differ due to the difference of each cell's chemical composition, internal resistance,
initial state of charge and temperature.
And each battery’s self-discharge rate also different. So even when the batteries are not working, their
voltage of series batteries will be also different. These differences will cause batteries to lose balance.
This means one battery could be overcharged and the other is undercharged. The voltage difference will be
increased with repeated charge-discharge cycles.
This will result in premature failure of the batteries.
HA02 battery equalizer is an energy transfer type equalizer, it can equalize battery voltage in both directions.
The equalizer starts to work when there is 10mV difference between two batteries. The current will flow from a
higher voltage to low voltage, eventually reaching equilibrium. It can connect with battery system 24 hours a
day, to keep the system balance automatically, no need manual intervention.
HA02 battery equalizer is suitable for lead-acid batteries(VRLA), lithium iron phosphate batteries(LFP),
nickel-cadmium secondary batteries(Ni/CD), and nickel-metal hydride secondary batteries(Ni/MH). It starts
working when the voltage difference is higher than 2.4V, it means that this equalizer can be used in a
single cell battery range from 2.4V to 12V. One equalizer can connect 4 batteries at a time. If there are
less than the 4, the extra cable can be left unused but should be insulated (contact between positive and
negative terminal should be avoided), it does not affect the equilizing performance.
With some additional parallel wiring, multiple banks can be equalized with a single balancer unit.
