Prairie Smoke Torchflower, Old Man’s Whiskers Prairie Smoke or Torchflower is a very unique, interesting, and unusual perennial plant. Pink/ Red blooms appear spring to summer, atop beautiful green fern-like foliage resembling that of fringed bleeding heart. Perhaps even more interesting is that after the flowers fade, and the seeds begin to form, they produce long hairs that stand up in a bunch and have a purplish/pink color, thus the names torchflower or prairie smoke. Spreading slowly from its roots, Prairie Smoke can be used as a small-scale groundcover. Grows easily in lean-to-average fertility garden soils. Geum triflorum is extremely cold hardy. Space the plants 15cm to 20cm apart in full sun to part shade for best results. You're buying a pack of 5 Seeds We'll supply you with all the germination & care instructions. |
