This adapter cable provides an USB expansion port on the the Iphone / Ipad which has no built-in USB ports. You will be able to connect external USB keyboard to the Tablet, USB Flash drive or import photos directly from the card reader slots which accepts various card types as listed below. Video/Audio can also be connected to any home theatre system or display having a yellow RCA / Composite video input.
Note that this device is dependant on Ipad application TV Out functionality. Ipad native video player supports AV output and alternative is to download Azul player from the appstore. The VLCplayer player used for video playback on Ipad does not support TV Out functionality i.e the Ipad determines if video & audio is send to external displays, not the adapter.
