Oxyanthus is a genus of plants in the family Rubiaceae. Oxyanthus speciosus commonly known as Wild Loquat in English and Munanga or Tshinangana in Venda is a South African indigenous species from the Eastern Cape, KwaZulu-Natal, Limpopo and Mpumalanga Provinces. It grows into a slender understory tree to 8 meter. It has glossy dark green leaves with a quilted appearance. During summer is bears dense heads of fragrant white flowers. These are followed by spindle-shaped fruits.
