Pelargonium species are evergreen perennials indigenous to temperate and tropical regions of the world, with many species in southern Africa. They are drought and heat tolerant, but can tolerate only minor frosts. Some species are extremely popular garden plants, grown as bedding plants in temperate regions. Pelargonium incrassatum commonly known as T'neitjie is a South African indigenous species from the Northern Cape and Western Cape Provinces. It is synonymously known as Pelargonium centauroides, Pelargonium condensatum and Pelargonium roseum. It grows into a 30 cm tall tuberous perennial with deciduous pinnately incised leaves that are covered with silky hairs. During spring it bears brilliant pinkish-purple flowers in pseudo-umbels. It is very well suited to pot culture.
