Silene pendula Seeds
Nodding Catchfly, Drooping Catchfly
Silene is a genus of flowering plants in the family Caryophyllaceae. Silene species attract butterflies to the garden and are used as food plants by the larvae of many lepidopterans. Silene is the feminine form of Silenus, a Greek woodland deity. If the related genera Lychnis, Melandrium and Viscaria are included in Silene, it contains about 700 species. Silene pendula, commonly known as Drooping Catchfly or Nodding Catchfly is a charming, but exquisite choice for the spring or summer garden. Blooming pale pink, pink, and white in loose clusters, this wildflower loves to cascade over walls and garden edges. A quick growing, stunning plant for your meadow or garden! This annual grows 30cm to 45cm in height, should be spaced 30cm to 40cm apart in full sun to part shade for best results.
