Condition - Excellent EXCEPT for fingers broken off on lady on the one hand. That is why the price is reduced. Originally listed at R 5000. It has to go. History: Sitzendorfer Porzellanmanufaktur Wilhelm Liebmann was established in 1850. In 1896 the business was turned into a limited stock company. In 1972 it was nationalized. In 1990 the Sitzendorf factory was privatized and 2012 production stopped completely.

I was contacted by a Meissen/Dresden connoisseur on 3 April and he says there were a number of factories in the Dresden/Saxony area that made "pseudo Meissen" marks (resembles the crossed swords of Meissen) such as Sitzendorf, Plaue and Potschappel, but Sitzendorf was probably the most prolific. It is of good quality considering the age but not up to Meissen standards of modelling and painting. Enjoy. Remember it comes with paperwork.
