500 Ltd Edn: 1oz STERLING SILVER Proof EWT Marine Medallion in SAM box with CoA

Proof 1oz Sterling Silver Medallion featuring the Endangered Wildlife Trust - Marine and Coastal Working Group - Limited Edition of only 500

This beautiful medallion has a very low mintage of 500!  It is one of 15 medallions in the Natural Heritage Prestige Series created and produced by the SA Mint. Each medallion features one of the working groups or conservation projects of the Endangered Wildlife Trust (EWT). 

This one features the Marine and Coastal Working Group whose goal is to conserve South African marine and coastal ecosystems and biodiversity. To date the group has focused primarily on the humpbacked dolphin and sea turtles. They have also raised awareness that the shark nets are killing not only the sharks but many other marine species as well. As a result, strong relationships have been formed with the Natal Sharks Board, and alternatives are being explored.

The official logo of the Endangered Wildlife Trust is depicted on the obverse of the medallion. As you can see, the paw is colourised.

Please note I've included both scans and photographs because the scans show the exquisite detail but the photographs capture the lustre and real beauty of the medallion.

The medallion has a diameter of 38.725mm and a weight of 33.626 grams (1 ounce) of Sterling Silver.

The medallion is encapsulated and comes in an SA Mint box, with certificate of authenticity numbered 0116.
