We offer vegetable glycerine in 99.5% purity. The quality complies with the specifications according to Ph. Eur. and is approved as a food additive (E 422). Glycerine is obtained from oils and fats, it is created in biodiesel production. It is a clear, almost transparent liquid that is honey viscous to thin depending on the temperature. Glycerine is an additive and is used to improve consistency, taste and preservation. This product comes from GMO-free sources.
Use
Glycerine has a hygroscopic effect (water binding), this property makes it an ideal humectant. Glycerin is an important component in cosmetics, it is used in ointments and moisturizers. As a food additive, glycerine can be used to protect food from drying out and sweeten the taste. In watercolours, it protects against drying out. In addition, it serves as an antifreeze and lubricant.
