Twine is PRE-CARDED per 5metres

A simple tutorial for using Twine

  • Micro-Macrame Beginner Knots for a Friendship Bracelet
    • To start you need 2 strings - when making a bracelet I use the general rule of 4 to 10 times the finished bracelet (this depends on the size of the bead, obviously the larger the bead, the longer string is needed).
  • The bracelet is started by Folding each String in Half and then mounting it on a Split Ring.

  • The two inner strings are kept straight, the pattern is made using the two outer strings only as depicted on the pics numbered 1 to 5 - Follow the sequence of knotting once starting from the left side string.

  • Repeat the knots once more starting from the right hand string.  Confused? Here is the pattern from the right side.

  • Push the knots up against each other to tighten and neaten them.

  • Thread a bead onto the two inner threads.   then repeat the knot sequence twice more again, first from the left side, and then from the right side.
  • Add your next bead.
  • Continue with your pattern in this manner until your bracelet is long enough.

My favourite way of finishing off a friendship bracelet - cut the 4 cord ends straight and attach a cord end crimp.  Your clasp can then be attached to either end of the bracelet.

Here is a simple one I made while listing the twine, it took about 10 minutes to make.  The beads I used are the Pony Beads I currently have listed.

Another way of making a friendship bracelet, quick and easy and I must have learnt this when I was about 5 years old is with Finger Knitting.  However, instead of threading the beads onto the twine end before starting, as I complete each loop, I remove it from my finger and thread the bead onto the loop instead of the end of the twine.

It has a neater finish, and easier for kids to work it this way.  Here is a simple one I made in 5 minutes.  Instead of adding the findings (I wanted this to be a simple method for teaching children), I have knotted the bracelet (something children should learn by the time they enter school)  This method is therefore suitable to teach from about age group 5/6 years old.
