A beautiful lot of 5 original South African coins from the early Republic era, all in uncirculated condition with bright original lustre. These coins are excellent collectors examples of pre-decimal and early decimal coinage.

Lot includes (5 coins):

  • 1960 ½ Penny (½d) 2x coins, Elizabeth II obverse, sailing ship reverse.

  • 1960 1 Penny (1d) 1x coin, Elizabeth II obverse, sailing ship reverse.

  • 1964 1 Cent (1c) 2x coins, wagon reverse, Jan van Riebeeck obverse.

Design features:

  • Obverse: Queen Elizabeth II (1960 issues) & Jan van Riebeeck (1964 issues).

  • Reverse: Classic South African designs Sailing Ship and Voortrekker Wagon.

Condition notes:

  • All coins are Uncirculated (UNC) with strong original mint lustre.
