This unit is a top of the line system for those who want really, really pure water at the lowest possible price. It is RO plus DI (demineralization by ionization) to make absolutely the highest quality water possible. This is the water used in manufacturing computer chips, circuit boards and for pharmaceuticals, and is virtually pure water.
No one knows what is in our drinking water. There have been some 70,000 new compounds created since WWII and each year we add about 1,000 more. Only 10,000 have even been tested and, of those, some 800 have been found to be carcinogenic. The number one killer is chlorine. It is the stuff that was used to make poison gas in the trench warfare of WWI. And, we are drinking it why??? Imagine filling your water bottle from a lake (or worse) and adding some bleach to it everyday for 30 years. Now, imagine your liver and skin and blood chemistry. Well, that is what 99% of the South African population does everyday. Yuk!!
Our membranes are "Made in the USA" and fully certified by NSF. We buy our membranes from www.appliedmembranes.com. They are TFC membranes made with material from Dow Chemical. This membrane will auto-flush contaminants down the drain. 450 Liters Per Day (LPD) membranes are good for 5 years +/-.
Our DI resins are "Made in the USA" and come from Purolite. It is their Nuclear Grade top of the line resin. This is the highest quality available. The 16 ounces of resin will last the average home 12 months...this equals about 1.2c per liter! The beads change when depleted.
The pre-filters in our system are the highest possible capacity and are made from burnt coconut shells (vs. coal or wool charcoal). They will last an average home (13.5 liters per day) 12 months. They will last a 22.5 or 27 liters per day home 6 months.
The installation is not complicated and normally does not require a plumber. Detailed installation instructions are provided.
