Common Name: Wine-Cup, Zambezi-Oak Triplochiton is a genus of flowering plants in the Malvaceae family. Triplochiton zambesiacus or Zambezi-oak as it is commonly known is a large spreading tree that can attain 12 meters in height. The bark flakes in whitish and pale grey patches, giving it a mottled appearance. The lobed palmate leaves are spirally arranged and hairy when young but hairless when mature. The white to yellowish flowers have deep red centers and are borne in summer. These are followed by winged fruit.
