This is indeed a rare find.

The bottles are all well kept and sealed with no damage apart from some age related wear.

Each bottle measures 11cm tall x 7cm wide.

Each bottle holds a different type of liquor, and features a unique hand painted image of whats perhaps a depiction of some or other Chinese legend.

I was able to use a translating app, and decipher some of the Chinese text as follows:

The bottom of each bottle has a unique text to indicate the contents:

1. Zhu Ye Qing Wine (Bamboo Leaf Green Wine)

2. Mei Gui Lu Wine (Rose Dew Wine)

3. Wei Shi Ji Wine (Whiskey)

4. Da Qu Wine (Big Qu Fermented Wine)

5. Bai Lan Di Wine (Brandy)

6. Gao Liang Wine (Sorghum Wine)

Then also at the bottom of each bottle, there is a circled text relating to the origin of these items, and it breaks down as:

(Republic of China): Refers to the Republic of China period (19121949 in mainland China; currently in Taiwan).

(Monopoly Bureau): Indicates that this was produced under the governments monopoly.

(inside the square): This translates to Certified Monopoly, affirming authenticity and approval for sale under state regulation.

(Produced by the company): Indicates it was manufactured by an official company.

(Sheng Yu Tai Liquor Company): Likely the name of the company that produced the liquor.

(likely refers to a Chinese calendar year, Wuzi): This corresponds to the year 1948 in the Gregorian calendar.

The circled mark suggests the bottle is from a liquor company operating in the Republic of China around 1948, making it a historically interesting piece.

Lastly, on the side each bottle has an extensive Chinese text painted next to each image:

These texts seem to be poetic descriptions of the corresponding liquors, emphasizing their connection to nature, tradition, and spiritual refinement.
They reflect classical Chinese appreciation for liquor as a cultural and almost sacred product, celebrating its unique individual qualities.
