Title: 7 x Assorted Vintage Embroidered Blazer and Jacket Badges.
Height: Ranges from 14.5cm to 5.0 cm.
Width: Range from 13.0cm to 5.0cm.
All Cloth Embroidered Badges.
1. Large Black Badge Z.C.C with Bird. ( The ZCC Zion Christian Church has a dove on their logo and the bird on this badge does not appear to be a dove.) I am unable to find any information on teh origin of this particular badge.
2. Sapiens Qui Prospicit "wise is he who looks ahead" badge with telescope, Springbok and orange tree embroidered.
3. Badge with Phoenix Rising.
4. Black And Red Badge with North Point, rope and large X - unkown.
5.Z L Badge and Lapel Pin with "Deo Et Labore" For God and Work/Labour motto. The design incorporates a book and a mining pick and shovel - I am unable to know for sure which school it is from.
6. Red and Blue Shield style badge with Springbok horns. Possible South African Infantry?
7. Small grey badge with "In Arcadia Vixi" (I lived in Arcadia) with tree and sheperds crook.
Arcadia Primary School, Pretoria, established in 1903.
The badges forms part of the Private and Militaria Collection of Lt Col AD Irvine who served in the Union Defence Force in North Africa and Europe during WW2 and for the South African Air Force.
Condition: All of the badges are in very good (#1-6) to fair (#7) condition.
