History: Our Sacramental Wine was first produced by George Alfred Quenet in 1910 in Worcester South Africa. George Quenet graduated from the University of Edinburgh in Scotland in the  United Kingdom, and who emigrated as a young pharmacist at the age of 21 years  to the Cape of Good Hope South Africa in 1897 where he established Quenet's Pharmacy in 1900 in Worcester. Since then the business has remained in the Quenet family with Leon Quenet and Anton Quenet  now the fourth generation managing the  business from Worcester.

Worcester Wine Region: The wine region is an hour's drive from Cape Town, the Worcester winelands incorporate over 250 years of winemaking knowledge to produce, amongst other cultivars, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chenin Blanc and Columbar to national acclaim. The town of Worcester lies in the famous Breed River Valley encircled by majestic mountains and is the centre of this wine route, surrounded by wine and table grape farms. The Worcester district is the largest in terms of wine growing area and volume, accounting for nearly 20% of national vineyards. It produces almost 27% of South Africa's total volume of wine and spirits and is the most important brandy producing area in South Africa.

GA Quenet  Sacramental Wines: Our wines are produced in the Breede River Valley region. The vineyards are situated in an area where millions of years ago, glacial activity, especially from the Karoo, left rich geological deposits, which created the unique and fertile soil types of the area.
