84.3% complete: Union of South Africa: Coin Collection: 1923-1960

This collection consists of coins minted during the Union of South Africa period from 1923 to 1960.

It is 84.3% complete and consists of 247 out of a possible 293 coins (Farthings to Half Crowns).

There are 90 copper coins and 157 silver coins (all different dates / denominations)

A similar collection, but one that was only 82% complete, sold for R4,950.00 by me in February on BoB this year.

Here is a breakdown of the collection you are bidding on and please note that coins which were only struck in proof condition (e.g. 1939 and 1949 Shillings) are not included...

Farthings : Complete from 1923 to 1959, but missing the ultra rare ones and the 1930, -35, -38, -41 dates (25 coins)

Half Pennies: 1924, 1928 complete to 1931, and then complete from 1933 to 1960 missing only the 1947 and 1954 dates (31 coins)

Pennies:  1923 to 1960 complete missing only the 1924, 1931 and 1947 dates.(34 coins)

Tickies (3d) : Complete from 1923 to 1959 missing only the 1931 date. (36 coins)

Sixpence (6d): Complete from 1924 to 1960 missing only the 1925, 1931 and 1936 dates (32 coins)

Shilling (1 /-): 1923, 1924, and then complete from 1927 to 1930 and then complete from 1932 to 1946 (missing only the 1944 date), and then complete from 1950 to 1960. (30 coins)

Two-Shilling (2 /-) : 1923, 1924, 1926, 1928, 1929, and then 1932 complete to 1945 and then 1951 complete to 1960 (29 coins)

Half Crown (2/6 /-) Complete from 1923 to 1930, 1932, and then complete from 1934 to 1945 and then complete from 1951 to 1959 (30 coins).
