THIS SPECTACULAR COLLECTION OF NINE EXTREMELY RARE HALLMARKED ANTIQUE (1884 TO 1899) GERMAN MADE "KOCH & BERGFELD" 800 SILVER "JACK ENDED KNIFE RESTS ARE AN AMAZING FIND. THE COMPANY WAS FOUNDED IN 1829 (AND STILL IN EXISTENCE) AND AS WAS TRADITION OF THOSE YEARS, THE KNIFE RESTS WERE CAST IN 800 SILVER, A PREDOMINANTLY EUROPEAN SILVER CONTENT. THE HALLMARKS CONSIST OF THE PEDESTAL VASE (ASSAY MARK), THE HALF MOON (CONFIRMATION OF THE SILVER CONTENT) AND THE CROWN (CONFIRMING IT IS GERMAN MADE) WITH THE 800 SILVER CONTENT CONFIRMATION STAMP. THE KNIFE RESTS ARE IN REMARKABLY GOOD CONDITION, CONSIDERING THEY ARE AROUND 130 YEARS OLD. THE KNIFE RESTS ARE 8.2cm LONG x 3cm WIDE x 2.3cm HIGH. THE ONE REST HAS A SLIGHTLY "BENT" ARM. THE WEIGHT OF THE KNIFE RESTS IS 200g. THESE AWESOME ANTIQUE GERMAN KNIFE RESTS WOULD BE MAGNIFICENT ON A FINE DINING TABLE.
