This great collectors coin 1935 Irish Penny in a very collectible old coin which still holds great detail as can be seen on the Harp on obverse and Feathers of the hen on the reverse. The penny (1d, pingin) coin was the third smallest denomination of the pre-decimal Irish pound. The penny was abbreviated to 1d, from the Roman denarius. It was introduced in 1928 to replace the British penny. The last year of minting was 1968 and it ceased to be legal tender on 31 December 1971.

Obverse : Irish harp at center divides (date); "SAORSTAT EIREANN", around. Reverse : Hen with chicks, 1d above, pingin in exerge.
