This is a Susie Cooper production, Crown Works Burslem England earthenware side plate, already 73 years of age, was in manufacture around 1936. The pattern is called "Nosegay", it is a transfer printed pattern design and hand painted bands, is featured in her book: "SUSIE COOPER A PIONEER OF MODERN DESIGN" 17. The floral design is pure Susie Cooper, who was a master at mid-century modern designs.
The side plate is in good condition and do not have any chips or cracks, but there is fine glaze crackling due to age and measure approximately 17,5 cm in diameter.
It will make a beautiful addition to your wall plate collection.
