This magnificent tall antique Flemish oak baroque "buffet-a-deux Corpus" cabinet server/ buffet hutch dates to between the early to mid 1800's and is a superb reproduction of the original 1500's and 1600's furniture pieces that are now mostly housed in museums such as the Rijks Museum in Amsterdam and Ruebens House in Antwerp, Belgium or in private collections. This fantastic piece of furniture is heavily carved solid honeyed oak and has a large lead-front glass door on the upper half of the buffet and a single carved door on the lower part of the buffet with a single cutlery drawer under the serving top. The carving is breathtaking and all encompassing. You will note the carved lion heads (in the centre of a geometric pattern on the lower door) and either side of the drawer as well as the top fascia of the cabinet. The cabinet is in remarkably good condition for its age (c180 years old) and has been extremely well looked after. The buffet has minimal/ normal age and usage related wear and tear which adds to the authenticity of these amazing Flemish pieces. This amazing buffet measures a very decent 89cm long x 49cm wide x 220cm high. Please view the pics carefully to fully appreciate this truly spectacular buffet server cabinet and to confirm the condition.
