Ted Hoefsloot, also known as Tjeerd Adrianus Hoefsloot, was born in Amsterdam, Holland in 1930. He studied advanced drawing and silkscreening at the Amsterdamse Graficshe School and emigrated to South Africa in 1955. His paintings hang in prestigious private and corporate collections around the world, notably the collection of Dr Anton Rupert, First National Bank, The Palace at Sun City and the Coca Cola head offices in Atlanta, Georgia USA. Ted was so inspired and overwhelmed by South Africa's natural beauty; the bushveld, the vast spaces, majestic mountain ranges, and the wildlife that 53 years after he came just for a visit he stayed and forever called South Africa home.
