Thomas Hacking was born in Lancashire, England in 1932.
At the age of thirteen he won the art competition for the North of England, organized by the J. Arthur Rank Organization. This led to him later attending and Art School in England.
Thomas immigrated to South Africa in the early fifties where he developed a great love for the African landscape and wildlife.
His art works were commissioned by Ian Smith, The Prime Minister of Rhodesia (present day Zimbabwe), the Orange Free State Administration and numerous other Societies.
His art has been exhibited internationally in the USA, Europe, Australia and Zimbabwe.
