Born 1907 Lindley , Orange Free State

Studied at the Witwatersrand Technical College under Sydney Carter . Was a freelance newspaper artist and cartoonist for "Die Vaderland " , "Die Brandwag" , Die Transvaler " , " Die Huisgenoot " and later for "Jeugland" .

Went on sketching trips with Erich Mayer and WH Coetzer

Has participated in many group exhibitions and several solo exhibitions since the 1940`s

Represented the Pretoria Art Museum

Commissioned to do paintings in both the Transvaal Provincial Administration Building and the Reserve Bank in Pretoria
