A BLAST FROM THE PAST RETRO EXT DINING ROOM TABLE + 8 CHAIRS DATED 18/8/61 (HAS PROVENANCE)

Considering it's age I would consider the table in good condition.

It obviously has some age related wear & tear but nothing that

detracts. Table measures height 73.5cm, the length (no extension

is 180cm and the width is 91cm. The chairs are height 80cm, the length

and width are 50cm. It has 8 chairs and is an extension table.

Please note the paint/finish that is peeling on the legs. Makes little

difference as it can easily be sanded down and the structure is

sound. It could be a D S Vorster piece (designer of the 60's)

The top of the table is mahogany veneer. The legs and support

boards are solid wood. The chairs are solid.

The chairs were bought at Stuttafords in 1961.

One chair is missing the upholstery & board, another of the chairs

is lighter and seems to have been sanded/stripped in some way.

This chair is in the above photo closest to the end. It is sound.

Another of the chairs mid support  is slightly loose. This is not  major

as it is impossible to detect but mentioning for accuracy

Two of the chairs have very dirty upholstery. Need a major

professional clean.

There are two pieces for the table extension, which should

probably be on the table. They were in the gentLeman's garage

and are surface scratched. Ideally I would think the table should

be a 6 seater, but extension pieces are available to you as are the

8 chairs
