You are bidding on a solid vintage wall hanging thermometer,made in London by the well known manufacturers,Short & Mason.
I guess that it was made at the beginning of the 20th Century and also that the wood appears to be oak and the fittings of brass.
The liquid is a red dye substance.
A hook is attached to the top for hanging.
There is an inscription scratched into the back,possibly the previous owners name.
The thermometer measures approx. 21cm in length.
