A Check List of the Birds of the Bechuanaland Protectorate and the Caprivi Strip with Data on Ecology and Breeding by Reay H.N. Smithers gives information relevant to birds in one of the richest wild life areas in the 1960's. Information given includes the location that the birds are found in as well as the type of habitat in which they occur. A fold out black and white map is included near the back of the book. This has a small tear in it but this does not detract from reading it. A couple of colour plates are also included.

The book is in fair/good condition. It has no dust jacket but yellow/ochre cloth covers with gold writing and a bird on the front. There is some foxing on the first and last few pages. A short message has been inscribed on the first page.

An interesting book for anyone who wants more information about birds in this particular region.
