- MARBLE BUST OF A YOUNG LADY -

SIGNED AT THE BACK AND MARKED ON A METAL PLATE UNDERNEATH

This lovely lady was carved out of a block of marble that is almost grey at the bottom and goes up into an lovely deep ivory colour. She has the classic look with her hair in an bun and two ribbons over her head. Her face is beautifully serene.  She has a little damage to the tip of her nose but to me it really does not diminish this work of art. There are no other damage to report, except if you look at the corners on the base you will notice they are a bit rounded from gentle knocks through the years. The lines that you see on the photos are part of the marble.

She will be a most treasured possesion in any home.
