Saambou piggy bank: This piggy bank is transparent and I think it is from the 1970s. There is a slot at the top where the coins were inserted and fell into the right column determined by their size.  There are columns for 50c, 20c, 10c, 5c and 2c coins. There is a separate slot on the front for notes.The box opens at the bottom. There is no key but can be opened with a small screwdriver by wiggling it slightly.


There is also:

  • a plastic protective chequebook cover from Standard Bank,
  • a protective plastic bank book cover from the old United Building Society
  • a protective plastic bank book cover from the Perm
  • a plastic card holder from the Perm.
