This gorgeous set of five mid-century (1952 to 1965) KPM Krister of Germany fine porcelain demitasse coffee cups and saucers are an amazing find and are in absolutely stunning condition. The demitasse cups each measure 8.5cm long including the handle x 6.3cm wide x 5.7cm high and the saucers are 11.5cm across. The pattern consists of a series of blue roses and open flowers on a crisp white background with a gold trim. The makers stamp on the porcelain was only in use between 1952 and 1965. KPM porcelain is without a doubt some of the finest porcelain produced in Germany and the quality is evident by just holding their pieces. There are no chips or cracks in any of the pieces and the gold trim is in remarkably good condition.

From the internet: KPM is an acronym for Knigliche Porzellan-Manufaktur Berlin, which translates to Royal Porcelain Factory in Berlin. The company was founded in 1763 by Frederick II of Prussia, who bought the factory from its previous owner, Johann Ernst Gotzkowsky, in the wake of its bankruptcy. Frederick II greatly admired the factorys white gold, a type of porcelain so fine and translucent that it closely mirrored the high-quality porcelain made in China. He invested large sums of money into the company and granted it the use of the royal sceptre as its emblem. He also commissioned many KPM porcelain objects to be made in the Rococo style for his palace.
